Explorers’ is our Sunday School where local children explore the Christian faith.

At present, we only meet on the first Sunday of the month, and ages range from 1 - 9 years. Our sessions are supported by plans produced by the URC, as part of the ‘Faith Adventures for Children Together’ (FACT) materials.

Catering for different levels of understanding, ability and additional needs is an important part of our planning as leaders of the group. We aim to provide a warm, relaxed atmosphere where all contributions are valued, relationships can grow and faith in Jesus is developed.

Our time begins in the family service, where the current focus of our learning is introduced. Often, once Explorers leave them, the adults will continue to explore that same Biblical theme.

Parents, where possible, are encouraged to remain in the adult service, but are free to remain with their child(ren) if they wish, and to join in with all that we do.

Our sessions include games, a snack, conversation, sharing of ideas about the theme and creative activities. Sometimes we sing, and we aim to close with a prayer. Families usually receive a printed ‘postcard’ to take home, to remind them of what we have explored together.
